The design of WPI's locker rooms was refined to focus on the 18 sports WPI offers, the facilities, and the Goat-the beloved school mascot.

With the motto “Engineering Excellence,” an initial design concept was proposed that integrated sports, physics, and math. The design was later refined to focus only on the 18 sports WPI offers and their facilities, with an emphasis on the Goat--the beloved mascot.

Motivating slogans unique to WPI were used at every locker room entrance: Get Your Goat On, Goat Big or Go Home, and Goat Out and Train
