After using a laser cutter to create ornaments on basswood a few years ago as Christmas gifts, I decided to take it one step further by using solid wood veneers of various wood types. The natural texture of the various colored wood was left untouched to shine. The following holiday season, I used similar wood veneers to create typography-inspired bookmarks.
The bookmarks include characters and swashes from Paris Pro, with quotations that book lovers can appreciate.
Design Includes
Wood veneers of maple, walnut, mahogany, cherry, padauk, and purple heart. Ornaments are etched and cut in 1/8" veneer, bookmarks, 1/32".
